Gogmagogs

the gogmagogs agogo

This show was conceived as a wildly energetic, non-stop event where each piece was created to overlap, and often to inter-react, with the next piece. The composers performed on stage along side the players, at times taking part in the action. It also explored a new relationship with the audience - alot of the action was in the auditorium, the players clambering across the seats, or falling off the stage, or hiding in the stalls; the composer and rock guitarist Billly Jenkins kept up a repartee with the audience through all his pieces which at times demanded their participation.

Commissioned by the South Bank Centre, London as part of the British Festival of Visual Theatre and presented for 4 performances at the Purcell Room in November 1997.
