Cathy is the author of many novels with young adults as the central character.
Her novel, Fat Boy Swim won the Grampian Book Award and was short-listed for the Blue Peter ‘Book I Couldn’t Put Down’ Award and the Booktrust Teen Book Award. Both her novels SKARRS and The Drowning Pond won a Scottish Arts Council Book Award and her various novels have been shortlisted for many prizes throughout the UK.
Cathy is an experienced public speaker and teaches many workshops in creative writing. She has been the virtual writer-in- residence and mentor for the Scottish Book Trust.
